| Wow, it's been awhile since I have updated. Since the last time that I updated, I've lost a lot of weight (about 20-30 lbs)! Awesome. I feel better and am still trying to be healthier by going to a local gym. I am still working at the hospital and taking some classes, although this week is finals week. I had an interview a week and a half ago with the Kettering School of Medical Arts PA program. I think that it went well, but I'll find out for sure in a week or so. I think those are the highlights from the last 6 months. | | |
| Very quick update: I have a new position at the hospital. It is full-time, so I can get reinversed for classes I take as long as it can be related to the hospital. It is also from 4-midnight, but I get a very nice shift differential! I also started up at AceUSA, which is an insurance company. It's actually through manpower (temp agency) and the only reason that I have it is because the supervisor really wanted me back. So, I work there from 8:30-3:30 and then go to Reid Hospital. I think that I got another 4.0 this semester and got my associates in business...Yay. I'm also going out to Philly to see Karis and Naomi 6/6-6/10. That will be awesome b/c I've never been. I think that is all...or at least I hope b/c I'm super busy. Bye. | | |
| Yesterday I went in to H.R. for the second time to find out about my job. They told me that they filled the phlebotomy positions with people who had experience. It's ok because I really did not have the time for the job right now and I can look for other jobs that are posted. | | |
| Last friday, I was looking at the application process for wright state's graduate school. I decided that I do not want to try to get accepted there. I would have no use for the master's degree or want to spend $20,000 more every year let alone that the degree is not the direction that I would like to go. So, Andy Black and Amber Neilson told me about the PA school in Kettering, OH. I've decided that I will put in an application there for next year. So, if I don't get into medical school next year, I'll at least have that to fall back on. I'm excited that I have an attainable goal in front of me for the next year! I can't wait. With all of the job transitioning, hopefully, it will turn into a wonderful year...a very blessed year. Not that this one isn't, but I will be getting closer to where I would like and feel that I should serve. I really just want to do what God wants me to and follow His leading. That is the most interesting thing because this seems like the first step I've taken in a long time that I feel God's presence in. So, I'll wait on the Lord. | | |
| It's spring break...finally! I got a hair cut the other day and am trying out a fo-hawk. I think that it looks ok, but i waiting to see people's reactions. I am trying to work on some papers and other project oriented type stuff because of the possible job change. Which brings me to my next subject: the job. I interviewed, as most of you know, about four or five weeks ago. I think that it went well and the supervisor of the phlebotomists had said she would get back with me in two weeks. So, I had figured that they had already filled the numerous spots or that they still were not done with the interviews and such. I think it was yesterday or sunday that I ran into an employee, who had worked with me in food and nutrition, and asked them if they had filled all of the positions. They said that they had not and asked me if I had a bachelor's degree and i said, "yes." They said, "Oh, they were asking us if it would be ok if someone with a degree that worked in fns worked with them." So, I'm guessing that it is most likely that I will get a change in job! Yay! I have a great aunt, who works there in the lab, and she told my grandma that I should look into obtaining my lab tech certification/education. I'm thinking about that because it would only consist of a few more classes, probably. I would be able to make even more money and it would be good to have a variety of clinical positions under my belt. I'm happy and not to mention that it is so awesome outside...definitely a spring day. | | |
